The end of April…the weather is confused, temperatures are highly increasing and with
the same speed decreasing. Milano is nice but doesn’t seems like a great deal for weekend. So I want to escape like I do almost every weekend, but this time I want something different. I want to go somewhere I’ve never been before.
A place that always waked my curiosity was Cinque Terre. So many beautiful stories and pictures I have seen from there. I told to myself that it’s time to feed my curiosity. From Milan to Cinque Terre by car it takes between 2-2:30 hours. I left the house at 11:00 on Saturday morning and arrived just in time to have a lunch there between 13:00-13:45. I booked a room in Monterosso Cinque Terre at Hotel Scoglio. Very nice rooms with a great view of the sea. Loved it. After that delicious lunch ( almonds crusted salmon ) I just want to explore the city. I don’t know why, but I was sure that I will find the umbrellas on the famous Monterosso beach. I was wrong. So bad, because it would have been a pretty shot. It’s impossible not to stop at a Gelateria to buy a gelato since every human being on the street is having one and staring at them and drooling is not the best idea. So I chose gelato alla panna cotta. First time trying this one. Another delicacy.
Since the city isn’t that big and the time I ate my gelato I’ve seen the entire beach, I was dying to go to Manarola. The best way to go there is by train. I had to wait in a pretty long line to get my ticket but it was worth it. Ten minutes later I was in Manarola. Oh that popular beautiful city with a lot of colorful pretty houses by the sea!! What a view! Fantastic. Seeing myself there it was literally like transporting from my room in one of those cute pictures! The best view is near Nessun Dorma terace. And since you’re there you can enjoy the view while waiting in line for a table at that nice bar. Yes, there is a line, and it’s not short.
It’s useless to say that I brought with me a lot of pretty off shoulders dresses and tops and shorts but the weather didn’t let me wear them. Thank God I had my long black cardigan from Imperial with me. It was my savior. The night slowly sat down and I couldn’t bear the cold so I decided to go back in Monterosso to sleep. I was in the train station and I could hear how my train arrives but the ticket machine was so slow that I was sure I will miss it…
